Ivan Pavlovich worked in the Kirov region as an electrician in the timber industry enterprises, a master of industrial training, a forwarding agent in the United Settlement System, then he worked as a head of Bakery.
In 1950s, his articles were published in the district newspaper (Zuevka town, Kirov Region). His articles were printed in the newspaper "Commune" and "Youth Commune", as well as in the newspaper "Komsomolskaya Pravda" and "Literary Gazette".
As a dissident was under the tacit observer of state security bodies for 15 years. Some materials of Kopysov fell to the West, sounded on Svoboda Radio . In 1982, he was arrested and sentenced to two years in prison. The sentence served in the colony of Semiluki city, Voronezh Region (released 1,5 years later).
