Pratt, James Alfred was born on April 6, 1873 in Chelsea, Massachusetts, United States. Son of James Woodman and Clara (Noble) Pratt.

Education

Educational public schools, Providence, Rhode Island. Studied mechanic engineering as cadet engineer under G. W. Bartlett, in shops, Providence. Pedagogy, New York University, 1908.

Career

Instructor Sockanosset school and assistant to consulting engineer, 1901-1906. Instructor Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, and acting head, machine department, 1907-1908. Instructor, now director Williamson Free School Mech.
