The completion of this written history is a part of our Sesquicentennial observance. There will be other important projects undertaken in the Sesquicentennial celebration as well. But nothing would be more spiritually profitable, nothing would contribute more to the health of the Advent, and certainly nothing would please our godly ancestors more, than that we recover our historical awareness and thus our vision of the future. And while the first leaders of the Advent, lay or ordained, scarcely emerge as actually heroic figures, we are made grateful for their pluck and determination. This little history is written with grace and humour. Unlike the average parish history, you'll enjoy reading this one!
