Joseph continued his training while serving as a draftsman in the Buffalo office of Green & Wicks in Buffalo, New York, United States. After leaving that firm he was employed in the office of Lansing & Beierel for a period of eight years. In 1904 Mr. Casey moved to Anderson, S. C., where he established an independent office, later joined Charles W. Fant in partnership. In the following year, the firm of Casey & Fant was commissioned to design a number of notable buildings, among which were: The Carnegie Library, 1907; St. John’s Methodist Church, 1908; City Hospital; and the Boy’s High School; all in Anderson. Also, he was Associate Architect on buildings for the Anderson College, 1911, and the Calhoun Hotel, 1925.
