Karen Harvey was a graduate of University of Nebraska, from which she received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1956. In 1974 Mrs. Harvey finished Northern Illinois University and obtained Master of Science and in 1978 Doctor of Philosophy.
From 1978 to 1984 Mrs. Harvey served as a professor at University of Denver, Denver, CO. Between 1978 and 1984 she was a director of Teacher Education. In 1984-1991 Mrs. Harvey worked at Cherry Creek Schools, Denver, CO, helding the post of a director o staff development.
Since 1991 Karen Harvey was appointed associate dean of academic affairs at University of Denver. Denver, CO. During 1956-1974 she worked in various locations as a classroom teacher. Since 1974 Mrs. Harvey resumed her office as an advisory board member of American Indian Studies Program at University of Denver. Then she acted as a consultant to Barrons, Millbrook Press, Quarto, Rough Rock Community School, Denver Museum of Natural History, Denver Art Museum, Colorado Endowment for the Humanities, and Denver Public Schools.
