Karl finished school № 235 in Moscow. Karl Alperovich submitted documents to the MEI at the electrophysical faculty, selecting a specialty: "automatics and telemechanics". He was accepted without exams as an excellent student. In the first days of October 1941 in a student team MEI Karl participated in the construction of fortifications along the banks of the Dnieper river: erecting anti-tank scarps. He spent a year together with the Institute in evacuation in Kazakhstan. He graduated from the Institute in late 1944.
Karl Alperovich was assigned to work in radar research Institute (TSNII-108) in a laboratory of the radar fire control of antiaircraft artillery (Sones). All the summer of 1945 he was working on this radar, deployed at the edge of the LII airfield in the Moscow region town of Zhukovsky. In the autumn of 1948 a separate laboratory was formed headed by Alperovich. In TsNII-108 Karl became the youngest head of the laboratory. In early October 1950, returning from another vacation, he was in a CB-1, then only formed the umbrella organization for the development of "Berkut" impassable for aircraft air defense system of Moscow. From 1950 — in KB-1 leading engineer, head of laboratory, Deputy chief designer of the system, SURE (anti-aircraft guided missile weapons). In early October 1950 year began to participate in the work on the development of "Golden Eagle", insuperable for aircraft air defense system of Moscow, created under the auspices of LP Beria. He participated in the introduction into service of the head of ZRK (antiaircraft missile complex). From 1959, was working on the system s-200 designed for firing at long ranges, and for which he received the order of red banner of Labor. He headed the development of radar illumination of the target. He was engaged in development of SAM on the basis of the firing radar. He was Deputy chief designer.
In 1957, Karl Alperovich defended his thesis, in 1969 – doctoral, in which he summarized the results he had obtained by working on the systems of ZURO from the C-25 to the C-200.
In 1988, Karl left the leadership (Deputy chief designer), became the chief researcher. 1997 – scientific Advisor of JSC "Almaz". Between 1986 and 1996 at the Department of MFTI, OJSC "Diamond" he was giving to students a course of radar. Under his leadership, 12 employees of KB-1 (OAO"Almaz") became candidates of technical Sciences.
