Kazuchika Komai graduated from Waseda University, specializing in eastern archaeology.
After graduation was appointed assistant professor at Tokyo University. Kazuchika Komai was conferred a doctorate and promoted professor (1946). Also taught concurrently at Waseda University. He took part in archaelogical research during the excavations at Korea, Manchuria and China and later led a team of scientists to investigate the ruins of Toro, Shizuoka Prefecture. Among his works are ''Study of Mirrors of Ancient China", "Prehistory Asia" and "Antiques of Japan and Chinese Culture."
