Augmented the idea of free will in "The Essence of Humane Freedom." Furthermore, deeply influenced by the philosophy of German mysticism, wrote an article "God and the Absolute Nihility," and showing his interest in reiigious philosophy and his support of reiigion, published a number of articles to defend religion. During the war, jointly with such professors of the Kyoto philosophical group as Iwao Takayama and Masaaki Kosaka, advocated "Philosophy of Total War".
