Kenji Yamanaka became assistant professor arid then professor (1924) of Tokyo University; retired under age limit (1944). Received degree for his detailed and positive work "Consideration of the Period Preceding the Reformation" (1947). Works include "An Introduction to the Occidental History", "The Medieval History of Europe" and introduction of such books as Leopard von Ranke's "History of the Latin and Teutonic Nations".
