Maria Pavlovna was a soloist of the Voronezh Russian folk choir in 1943-1963. In the mid-1960s, she moved with her husband to the city of Lipetsk, wherein 1969 they created the folk song ensemble "Russianka".
In 1954 Maria Pavlovna composed the music and lyrics of the song "Oh, moroz, moroz ...". In 1956, the song was recorded at the Moscow State Central Recording House and in the same year was performed on All-Union Radio. The song gained popularity in 1968 when it was performed in the film "The Master of the Taiga" performed by Valery Zolotukhin.
Since 2008, she has tried to officially formalize her authorship of the song "Oh, moroz and moroz."
