After graduating from middle school went to U.S. and received degree at Clark University (1921).
Matsusaburo Yokoyama became lecturer of Keio University (1923); later served as assistant professor and thereafter was appointed professor of Keio University (1938).
First studied feeling and then by using his unique method of close observation continued in researches on emotion, volition and sensation, establishing among his group of researchers a solid and sober academic tone.
Matsusaburo Yokoyama rendered considerable services as go-between in interchange of knowledge and mutual contact between American and Japanese psychological circles. Served as trustee of International Psychological Association; received title of Honorary Doctor of Science from Colorado University.
