Mikhail Valentinovich Artemyev is a Belarusian chemist and nanomaterials researcher affiliated with Belarusian State University. He heads research in nanochemistry and has contributed extensively to the study of semiconductor quantum dots, nanocrystals, nanorods, nanoplatelets, luminescent materials, and plasmonic nanostructures.
Education
Artemyev studied at Belarusian State University and received a Master of Science degree on November 30, 1985. His subsequent scientific work developed within the university's Institute for Physico-Chemical Problems, where his research became focused on physical chemistry, nanochemistry, semiconductor nanocrystals, and the optical properties of nanoscale materials.
Career
Artemyev has pursued his scientific career at Belarusian State University and its Institute for Physico-Chemical Problems since 1985. His work has concentrated on the synthesis, characterization, optical behavior, and application of semiconductor nanocrystals and related nanostructures. His research includes colloidal quantum dots, nanorods, nanoplatelets, nanocrystal-doped optical systems, luminescent materials, plasmonic structures, and nanocomposites. By 2010 he had become head of the Institute's Laboratory of Nanochemistry, where he led research on nanomaterials with specialized optical and physicochemical properties. He has also been identified as a principal investigator at the Research Institute for Physical Chemical Problems of Belarusian State University. Artemyev has published extensively with international collaborators in journals including Nano Letters, ACS Nano, The Journal of Physical Chemistry C, Physical Review Letters, and Analytical Biochemistry.
