In 1945, Mitrofan Ivanovich Manokhin graduated from the secondary school in Kozlovka. In 1945-1947, he studied at the college of Soviet trade in the town of Buturlinovka of Voronezh region. In 1951, he graduated from the Institute of national economy in Moscow.
Mitrofan Ivanovich Manokhin worked as a scientific worker at the Research Institute of the State Planning Committee during 1956-1961, the head of the department of summary economic-statistical and scientific-publishing works of the State Supply Committee during 1961-1986, and simultaneously an associate professor of the department of statistics of the Institute of national economy during 1972-1986.
The author of about 200 works on agricultural statistics, including such textbooks as "Fundamentals of agricultural statistics" (Moscow, 1964, 1965, 1967), "Statistics" (Moscow, 1970; together with Y. Khazanov and M. Yuzbashev).
