Quotes from others about the person
Vyacheslav Zarubin, public figure: "Mamonov enjoyed enormous prestige among the citizens of Ostrogozhsk and leaders of the region. Just think of it, he worked as the party head of the region for 26 years! And before that he had headed the Vorobyevsk District Committee of the CPSU for 6 years. He badly disliked whisperers.Once he rode with the driver, and that man began to tell the "secrets" about his leader, whom he had driven before. Mitrofan Mamanovich listened to him, and when they came to the district Committee, he asked to put the car keys on the table".
Vladimir Petropavlovsky, writer, publicist: "In the late 70-ies I was preparing a radio essay for the All-Union program "Earth and people"...At this time, Mitrofan Mamonov worked as the 1st Secretary of the CPSU District Committee for two decades, was a Hero of Socialist Labor, a man known not only in the region but also in the country. In communication he was simple, and it was interesting to talk to him...He was very humble and stronglly worried about the improvement of Ostrogozhsk citizens' life" .
