Nagamori Masuda was born in Owari Province (Aichi Prefecture).
During the invasion of Korea in 1592 Nagamori Masuda was placed in charge of the transportation of provisions to the army with headquarters in Nagoya. After the war he was granted a fief of 20,000 koku in Yamato Province (Nara Prefecture). After the death of Hideyoshi when the Tokugawa and Toyotomi factions began fighting for supremacy he stayed neutral. After the Toyotomi faction was defeated he submitted to Ieyasu Tokugawa, but instead of being accepted he had his fief confiscated and himself exiled to Iwatsuki in Musashi Province (Saitama Prefecture). When he heard the news that Hideyoshi's son Hideyori had committed suicide during the Osaka-Jin (battle) he, too, did the same.
