Practiced law. Was elected to House of Representatives for the first time and was appointed private secretary to Minister of Railways (1936). Became Councilor of Transportation and Communications (1944). Was purged from public office (1947). After being depurged (1951) was elected to House of Representatives for the second time (1952). Was elected to House of Representatives for the third time (1953) and served as member of Standing Ccmraittee for Transportation, member of Executive Board of Liberal Party, vice-secretary of Japan Democratic Party, vice-chairman of Executive Board of Japan Democratic Party, chairman of Punitive Committee of House of Representatives and vice-chairman oi* General Affairs Council of Liberal-Democratic Party. Was councilor of Oji Paper Manufacturing Company, Jiijo Paper Manufacturing Company, Dwa Fire Insurance Company, Fuji Industrial Company, Hokkaido Fisheries Ccmpany and Kuribayashi Trading Company, auditor of Japan Baseball League, director of Nanko GaJcuen at Sendai, trustee of Kosei Gakuen in Tokyo and permanent director of Japan Reconstruction League. Served as auditor of Maruko Securities Company.
