Career
Together with his son, Chikatada, he defeated an army of the Tairas on the Yokota Kiver in Shinano in 1181.Then, advancing westward along the Japan Sea coast, he defeated another Taira force at Mt. Tonami in 1183 and entered Kyoto together with Yoshinaka. In 1184, he was killed in his unsuccessful battle against Yoshitsune Minamoto in Uji near Kyoto.
