Nikolai Ivanovich Krasnogorsky was a Soviet pediatrician, a prominent specialist in the field of physiology of higher nervous activity, Academician of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences, Honored Scientist of the RSFSR, winner of the Stalin Award as well as I.P. Pavlov's Award.

Nikolai Ivanovich Krasnogorsky was born on June 26, 1882 in Leningrad (current Saint Petersburg), Russian Federation, in the family of Ivan Aleksandrovich Krasnogorsky, official of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Empire, and his wife, Varvara Mikhailovna.
Education
In 1902, Nikolai Ivanovich graduated from the Saint Petersburg Gymnasium and entered the Imperial Military-medical Academy.
Career
Since 1918, Nokolai worked as the head of the Department of Children's Diseases at the Yuriev University and Voronezh State University. Next, from 1920 worked as the head of the Department of Nervous and Mental Diseases at the Voronezh State University. In 1922, was appointed the head of the Department of Children's Diseases at the Leningrad 1st Medical University where he worked until 1940.
From there on, worked as the head of the Department of Children’s Diseases of the Naval Medical Academy where he stayed until 1952, at the same time being the chief pediatrician of the Navy until 1956. Since 1945, head of the laboratory of the Pediatric University of the Ministry of Health, RSFSR, and since 1950 was the head of the laboratory of the I.P. Pavlov’s Institute of Physiology of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.
