In 1973 Shabanov entered the Kursk state pedagogical Institute.He graduated from the art and graphic faculty of the Kuban University (Krasnodar, 1972).
Nikolai Konstantinovich is a participant of regional and national exhibitions since 1981. Since 1988, he is an associate professor, since 1996, head of the Department of theory and methods of teaching fine arts of the art and graphic faculty of the Kursk State Pedagogical University.
His main works: "Old square" (1988), "Fresh wind" (1999), "Spring etude" (2000), "Outskirts of the city" (2001), "Winter landscape" (2002) and others.
