In 1947, Nina went to school. It turned out that her school teacher of physical education played basketball in the sports society "Stroitel" on the basis of the Construction Institute. Thus, the sports career of the future champion began.
Nina Vyacheslavovna began to train in the sports society "Stroitel". Next season (1947/1948) the girls' team "Stroitel" became the champion of Moscow. Nina Vyacheslavovna played her first official game in this tournament with the Moscow "Locomotive". In 1950, Nina joined the team of masters "Stroitel". The following year, Nina entered the Institute of Physical Education. Having won together with her team the title of champion of the USSR Nina Artsishevskaya received the title of Master of Sports. In winter of 1953, as part of the Moscow combined team Nina Artsishevskaya won the match of the cities combined teams in Riga. In 1953, she was included in the USSR national team and took part first in the Festival of Youth and Students in Romania, where the gold medal was won, and then in the 1954 European Championship in Belgrade (Yugoslavia), where Soviet basketball players won for the third time in a row.
In 1955, Nina Artsishevskaya as a member of the Moscow combined team took part in the third and the last annual tournament called "All-Union Indoor Competitions". In 1956, at the European Championship in Prague the USSR national team won again. Nina Artsishevskaya won her second European gold medal.
In 1957, Nina gave birth to a daughter and had to stop training temporarily, but in 1958, she played at the European Championship in Poland, where Soviet basketball players won silver medals.
In October 1959, the 3rd World Women's Championship was held in Moscow. Nina Artsishevskaya participated in all 6 games, scored an average of 3 points per game.
