In 1926, Peter Artemyevich Polozhentsev graduated from the Forest Engineering Faculty of the Leningrad Forestry Engineering Academy (currently: Saint-Petersburg State Forestry University).
In 1935, he became a professor. In 1945, Peter Artemyevich received a doctorate in Agriculture and became a doctor of agricultural science.
In 1926, Peter Artemyevich Polozhentsev became an assistant forester, a senior research scientist, then a forester of Borovoy forestry of Buzuluksky Bor. In 1930, he was an associate professor, professor, head of the Department of Forest Protection of the Penza Forestry Institute. In 1933, he became a professor at the Kuibyshev State Pedagogical Institute. In 1935, he became a professor at the Bashkir Agricultural Institute. In 1948, he was a professor, head of the Department of Forest Protection of the Voronezh Forestry Institute.
Peter Artemyevich Polozhentsev was the author of more than 300 works, including: "The Animal World of Bashkiria" (Ufa, 1949); "Harmful and useful animals of forest shelter belts" (Moscow, 1953); "Small atlas entomorphs" (Moscow, 1971).
In 1945 Peter Artemyevich received the title: "Distinguished Academic of the Bashkir ASSR. In 1949, he was awarded the medal "For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" and received the title: "Honored Scientist of the RSFSR". In 1951, Peter Artemyevich Polozhentsev was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
Peter Artemyevich Polozhentsev was an eminent entomologist and teacher. He was devoted to his scientific work. He became a doctor of agricultural science. He was known as Distinguished Academic of the Bashkir ASSR (1945) and Honored Scientist of the RSFSR" (1949).
