Nina Atwood serves as therapist and coach to singles who seek her advice on dating and relationships. Her practice is in Dallas, Texas, and she maintains an active website. She speaks in workshops and to television and radio audiences and writes articles for women’s publications. For example, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Mademoiselle, Complete Woman, and Men's Health. She works with CEOs and key level executives of small to mid-sized businesses, facilitating roundtable groups through Vistage (formerly TEC), the world’s largest CEO membership organization.
Atwood wrote her first book, "Be Your Own Dating Service", because she views single life as an opportunity to "learn . . . about healthy love, . . . make better choices, . . . [and] become the best possible partner." In the book Atwood discusses how to motivate oneself in the dating process, enjoy being single, identify and search for the right partner, increase the number of potential mates, and find commitment and love. Atwood wrote the book to address topics she did not find in available books, particularly how to be herself and attract a good partner. On her website, she said she addresses relationships that range from first meetings to discussions of long-term commitment. "The potential of these budding relationships hinges on the quality of communication. Date Lines was written with this in mind. . . . The basic goal is to set the stage for a healthy, loving relationship, realizing that there are no guarantees, and focusing on the process of learning and growth along the way."
Nina Atwood established herself as one of the foremost authorities on the intricacies of dating and love relationships. In 1996, she launched the world’s first educational resource on the internet for singles, which is called Singlescoach.
