Nityesh Bhatt

Background

He was born and brought up in the state of Rajasthan, popularly known as the Land of Kings and Palaces in India.

Education

Nityesh has a Bachelor’s degree in science and got his Master of Business Administration and Doctorate degree in e-governance from Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur

He has also completed four months Faculty Development Programme (Freie Demokratische Partei (Free Democratic Party)) of Indian Institutes of Management Ahmedabad and Online Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme of DiploFoundation, Malta in year 2006.

Career

He did his entire schooling and college education in Udaipur, known as "City of Lakes". During this period, he was very active in literary and cultural activities – Debate, Essay-Writing, Music, Skit and has represented his school/ college multiple times and secured many prizes at State level He has also worked as announcer at All India Radio Udaipur for five years.

He is Senior

Associate Professor and Chairperson in the Information Management Area at Institute of Management, Nirma University, Ahmedabad – India. Out of more than 13 years of experience in academia, corporate training and research. In his first nine years, he was associated with National Institute of Information Technology and First Computers, and Pacific Institute of Management, Udaipoor.

Achievements

• In 1998, he was awarded the best faculty of National Institute of Information Technology for northern India. In year 2006, he was invited to participate in first Internet Governance Forum (IGF) meet jointly organised by United Nations – IGF Secretariat and Government of Greece at Athens. Since year 2007, he is a member of the National Executive Committee of Special Interest Group on eGovernance (SIGeGov) set up by Computer Society of India. He is also a co-convener of Computer Society of India-Nihilent e-Governance Awards 2010-2011 and 2011-2012. He was awarded as "BestTeacher of Information Technology" in 17th Devang Mehta B – School Award for year 2009. In the capacity of Program Chair, he organised 8th International Conference on e-Governance (ICEG) in year 2012 at Ahmedabad. Credited with good number of research papers and management cases, he has also co-edited six books in the areas of technology and management. Doctor Bhatt is also a research consultant with Indian Space Research Organisation (Indian Space Research Organisation), Ahmedabad in Information and communications technology area. He has imparted lectures in almost 200 MDPs for leading companies like Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, BPCL, BOSCH, HZL, Reliance Power, Sterlite,Alstom Power, Kalpataru Power, J.K. Cement, Parle, Zydus, Torrent Pharma, GMDC,SBI, Bank of Baroda, Indian Air Force etc at different levels.

Membership

Since year 2007, he is a member of the National Executive Committee of Special Interest Group on eGovernance (SIGeGov) set up by Computer Society of India.
