Background
He was born on July 24, 1943, in Moscow, Russian Federation in the family of Russian intellectuals. Grandfather - Laurent Yuri Nikolaevich, by the first education was a civil engineer. Later he graduated from the conservatory and was a lead singer at K.S. Stanislavsky Theater. In 1960 he entered the 1st Moscow Medical Institute.
Career
After graduation from 1966 to 1969, O.B. Loran worked as a surgeon in the Saldinskaya City Hospital (the city of Verkhnyaya Salda, Sverdlovsk Region). From 1969 to 1972 he was a resident physician at the urogynecological department of the Botkin Hospital. In 1973 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of medical sciences. In 1990 he received the degree of Doctor of medical sciences and from 1972 to 2001 he worked at the Moscow Medical Dental Institute (now the Moscow State Medical Stomatological University) at the Department of Urology, moving from assistant to the head of the Department of Urology with the course of andrology and urogynecology. In October 2001 he was elected the head of the Department of Urology of the Russian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education. He returned to the Botkin Hospital - the base of the Department of Urology, where 30 years ago he was formed as a urologist. The main direction of the scientific and practical activities of O.B. Lorana are the problems of reconstructive-plastic urology, andrology and urogynecology. On the issues of urogynecology professor Loran lectured at the universities of France and the United States.
