Olimpia Pelosi was born on August 27, 1957, in Serino, Campania, Italy. She is the daughter of Carmine, an engineer, and Filomena, a teacher, Pelosi.
Olimpia Pelosi attended the University of Salerno, where she earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Italian language and literature in 1978 and a Doctor of Philosophy in foreign modern languages in 1981. Besides, she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There Pelosi received Doctor of Philosophy in Romance languages in 1990.
Olimpia Pelosi serves at the State University of New York at Albany. She is an associate professor of Italian language and literature since 1990. Also, Pelosi is a writer and translator. There are two sides to Pelosi's writing: the academic one, in which she has been more prolific until now, and the creative one, which she cherishes the most in my heart. Her academic writing is influenced by critical curiosity and intellectual challenges. Pelosi's work is inspired by life, memories, dreams, the beautiful Italian and American landscapes that she loves, and the intense desire to 'save' some dazzling or sad moments she had experienced.

2001Quotations: "I write because it is the only way I have to be completely happy and at peace with myself."
