Background

Otani Buichi was born in 1887 in Hyogo, Japan.

Career

Otani as a proliferate expert of PC discipline was sent to America by the Ministry of Education to study and observe physical culture methods. An ardent physical culturist, he became professor at the Tokyo College of Arts and Science.
