Leviten, Riva Shamray was born on October 26, 1928 in Los Angeles, California, United States. Daughter of Peter Leo and Edythe (Smith) Shamray.


Bachelor of Science in Apparel Design, University of California at Los Angeles, 1950;postgraduate, Cal Arts, Los Angeles, 1949-1950;postgraduate, Experimental Etching Studio, Boston, 1980-1990.


1st vice president Rhode Island chapter National Museum Women in the Arts, 1997-1999.
