In 1887 Okada Ryohei graduated from the Philosophy Section,Tokyo University.
After graduating from the Philosophy Section, Tokyo University (1887), he was appointed professor at the First Higher School (1890), an inspector of the Education Ministry, president of Kyoto University (1907) and Education Vice-Minister. Was appointed a member of the House of Peers (1904). Was Education Minister in the Terauchi Cabinet (1916) and the Kato Cabinet (1924). Appointed a member of the Privy Council (1929).
