Sentaro Sawamura studied aesthetics and history of arts at Kyoto University.
Sentaro Sawamura was noted as a poet while still a youth. His first collection of poems, "Elegy On The Lake," was published in 1907.
He went to Tokyo and edited the arts magazine, Kokka. After teaching at the Tokyo Fine Arts School and the Tokyo Higher Normal School, was appointed professor at Kyoto University.
