Sergey Zakharovich Ivanov

Background

Sergey was born on December 4, 1902 Bialystok, Poland.

Education

He graduated from the technological department of the Voronezh Institute of Chemical Technology (1933).

Career

Since 1937 he works as an assistant, professor of the department of the technology of sugary substances, deputy director (1939-1940), director of the Ramon branch (1943-1944). The head of the department of technology and organization of sugar and starch production (1947-1959), rector of the Leningrad Institute of Food Technology. Since 1959 professor, the head of the department "Technology of sugary substances" (1964-1979), rector (1959-1963) of the Voronezh Technological Institute.

Achievements

• Scientific interests: studies of sucrose stability in solutions of heterogeneous systems. Founder of the Voronezh school of terminology and terminography. Author and editor of 25 dictionaries in 17 languages of the sugar-producing countries of the world (1966-1988).
