After serving as staff member of the Central Meteorological Observatory, appointed professor of Tokyo University. He published a number of research articles in the field of theoretical meteorology.
He received the prize of the Imperial Academy in 1950 for "Research on Atmospheric Disturbance" and the scholarship fund for the development of science from the Asahi Shimbun (newspaper) for "Research of Numerical Value Forecast" in 1954.
He was noted for research in theoretical meteorology. Books : "Science of Meteorology" and "Principles of Physical Geography."
