Shigeki Senuma was born on October 6, 1904 in Tokyo, Japan.
He graduated from the Commercial College of Tokyo in 1929.
He joined the Chikura-Shobo Publishing House. Afterward he became a high school teacher and managing director of a business firm, then instructor at Nihon University. He translated the writings of Sinclair Lewis and John Steinbeck, and wrote newspaper articles. Among his books are the "Development of Modern Japanese Literature," "Shimazaki Toson," and "On Sato Haruo." He was a member of the New Japan Literature Society.
