Career
Well-known for his bravery like his comrade-in-arms, Toshimasa Nishigori. Those two warriors participated in the secret attempt of Emperor Godaigo to chastise the Kamakura Shogunate, upon orders of the Emperor. The plot was exposed and the emperor fled to Mt. Kasagi (Kyoto Prefecture) in September, 1331. Shigenori was captured while defending the ruler against the Shogun's forces, taken to Kyoto where he was killed.
