Education
He graduated from Tokyo University (1909).
Career
He was appointed assistant professor at Tokyo University (1913). Then he was sent to the United States, England and Germany (1920-22) for the study of plant breeding.
Appointed full professor at Tokyo University (1923), serving until his retirement (1944) and accorded the designation of professor emeritus. Enlisted into assuming the position of dean of the Department of Agriculture of Tamagawa University. Concurrently is professor at Agricultural College of Tokyo. Wrote many theses of plant breeding.
