Education
He graduated from Tokyo Higher Commercial School and then studied in Britain, Germany and France.
Career
Returning to Japan (1913) he was appointed instructor at Tokyo Higher Commercial School. He became president of the Soda Bank and promoted study of social problems. Received an Imperial Academy prize (1924) and was made a member of the House of Peers (1927).
