Stefania was born on 30 April in 1905 in Minsk, Belarus in the family of the famous Belarusian artist Mikhail P. Staniuta.

Stefania studied at Minsk female government high school.
From 1921 to 1926 she studied at the Belarusian drama studio in Moscow, USSR. He became an actress.
From 1921 to 1926 Stanyuta studied at the Belarusian Drama Studio in Moscow, where she played successfully the central roles in graduation performances: Venus in the folk drama Tsar Maximilian, Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream by W. Shakespeare, Psyche in Eros and Psyche by E.Zhulausky. Her stage career was successful also in the first years of her work at Vitsebsk theatre. However, in 1931 Stanyuta left the Second Belarusian Theatre and joined the First Belarusian Theatre in Minsk. During ten years there, she played several parts of young
heroines. The real renaissance in S.Stanyuta’s career as an actress started in 1965 when she played the role of Granny in the play Myself, Granny, Iliko and Illarion by N. Dumbadze and R. Lordkipanidze. S. Stanyuta at the age of 60 started an actually new, much richer, and brighter life on the stage. The actress became in great demand in
cinematography; she acted at the same time in several films. She created impressive images in the pictures Rodnaya sprava (One’s Own Cause), Pamyat’ zyamli (Memory of the Land), Tryvozhny mesyac version (Uneasy Month of September), Razvitanne (Farewell), Beliya rosy, Chuzhaya bac’kaushchyna (Alien Fatherland), Mama, ya zhyvy (Mother, I am Alive) and others. She often appeared in radio and television programmes.
At the Ya. Kupala Belarusian Academic Theatre, S.Stanyuta played the parts of Marilyn in Raskidanae gnyazdo (The Ruined Nest) by Ya. Kupala, Aryna Radzivonauna in Verachka by A.Makayonak, Giza in Hulnya z koshkay (Playing with a Cat) by I.Erken, Mod in Harold and Mod by K.Higgins, Kargota in Try Ivany – try bratty (Three Ivans – Three Brothers) by A.Volsky. Since 1932 and until the end of her life Stefania Stanyuta worked at Yanka Kupala Belarusian Drama Theater Yanka Kupala in Minsk. She played about 200 roles. She started acting in movies in 1958.

2000At retrospective art exhibitions, one can often see The Portrait of a Daughter, a very impressive image of a young girl in a blue dress, with very long plaits, looking into the distance. This is how the famous artist Mikhail Stanyuta depicted his eighteen-year-old daughter Stefaniya on canvas.
