Sultan Farrakhovich Mavlyuberdin

Background

Sultan Farrakhovich Mavlyuberdin was born on March 2, 1937 in Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation.

Education

In 1951, Sultan Farrakhovich graduated from the secondary art school of the USSR Academy of Arts (now Russian Academy of Arts); in 1961, finished theater and staging faculty of the Leningrad Theater Institute (now Russian State Institute of Performing Arts).

Career

During the period 1963-1966 Sultan Farrakhovich worked as the chief artist of the Voronezh Youth Theater. He decorated the scenery for the performances of "The City at Dawn" by Alexei Nikolaevich Arbuzov (1963-1964), "Jelsomino in the Land of Liars" by Gianni Rodari (1963-1964), "Drummer's Fate" by Arkady Gaydar (1964-1965), "The Snow Queen" Eugene L. Schwartz (1964-1965), "Twenty Years Later" by Mikhail Arkadyevich Svetlov (1965-1966) and others.

In addition he was a workshop artist of the Voronezh branch of the Art Fund of the RSFSR from 1966 to 1973. Returned to Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) later that year.

Sultan Farrakhovich regularly took part in city, regional, zonal, republican exhibitions since 1961. Designed and illustrated such books as "Fantastic stories" by Alexander Stepanovich Green (1964), "Humiliated and insulted" by Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky (1969) and others.
