Tadayuki Toda was born in 1809 in Japan.
Tadayuki Toda was originally a hard (senior retainer) of Utsunomiya Clan (Tochigi Prefecture). Deploring the neglected state of Imperial tombs, he suggested their preservation to the Shogunate, who thereupon appointed him as curator fo r them.
Was subsequently made Lord of Takanori at Shimotsuke (Tochigi Prefecture) (1866). After the Meiji Restoration (1868) was appointed Sanyo (councilor) and Shoryo-no-kami (director of the Bureau for Imperial Tombs).
