Takeo Itazawa graduated from Tokyo University in 1919.
Takeo Itazawa took a job in the Ministry of Imperial Household and became a Professor at Gakushum College in 1936. He also went to Europe for two years from 1927 while serving as a Professor, was an instructor at Literature Department of Tokyo University (since 1933). He was appointed Assistant-Professor and Professor of Tokyo University (1938), lectured on Japanese Historical Philology and was purged after the end of the war. He had been a Professor at Hosei University (since 1942) and became a Doctor of Literature in 1954.
