Takuzo Itakura was born in 1879 in Hiroshima Prefecture.
Takuzo Itakura graduated from the Political Science Section of Keio University (1903), studied in America, Britain and France (1908-1911).
Takuzo Itakura became a professor of Keio University after returning to Japan from abroad, he was accorded a doctorate in 1926. Resigned from the post of professor (1944) and was appointed emeritus professor. During the above period, first entered the Jiji Shimpo (1904), becoming chief editorial writer. Takuzo Itakura was appointed president of the Jiji Shimpo Newspaper (1946), became a chairman in 1950.
Takuzo Itakura championed the idea of democracy and liberalism of Yukichi Fukuzawa, great liberal leader and scholar and founder of Keio University, advocated reduction of military force during the Taisho Era.
