Tokiyoshi was proficient in many martial arts. Known also as Rokurozae- mon. Moving to Shinano (Nagano Pre¬fecture), he became a hunter. When Yo- shisada Nitta started a pro-emperor campaign in the Hokuriku District, Tokiyoshi joined his forces and distinguished himself in many battles. In 1338, he routed enemy forces in Kaga and Echizen (Ishikawa and Fukui Prefectures). After Yoshisada died (1338), he served Yoshisuke Wakiya, Yoshisada's younger brother, and defeated Takatsune Ashikaga’s forces. When Yo¬shisuke was defeated, he defended the Ta- kano-su Castle against heavy odds. Was killed when hit by a stray arrow.
