Tomohito Shinno was born in 1579 in Japan. He was the younger brother of Emperor Goyozei.

Career
Tomohito Shinno taught the Kokin-denju (Secret Commentary of Kokin-wakashu anthology) to ex-Emperor Gomino-o, which in turn had learnt from Yusai Hosokawa. Excelled in waka poetry and wrote the Kokin-shu Kikigaki (Note of Kokin-wakashu) in 3 volumes.
