Valentin Pimenovich graduated from the chemical department of the Voronezh State University (1939).
During 1927-1930 Valentin Pimenovich was a worker at the Voronezh brick factory. In the years of 1930-1933 he was a traveling circus artist. In 1938-1940, Valentin Pimenovich was a responsible secretary of the sports society "Science" under the Voronezh Regional Committee of the labor union of higher education and scientific institutions. Since 1940, he was a researcher of a special chemical laboratory, academic secretary of the Voronezh State University.
In 1941-1947 Valentin Pimenovich served in the army, was a participant of the Great Patriotic War, a major. Since 1947, Valentin Pimenovich worked as the assistant, the associate professor, the professor, the head (since 1961) of the Department of Analytical Chemistry, the rector (1965-1972) of the Voronezh State University. In 1959-1961 he worked as the head of the department of general and analytical chemistry of Voronezh Technological Institute, at the same time (1958-1965) he was the head of the ion-exchanger laboratory of the Voronezh Economic Council. Since 1975, the head of the chromatography problem scientific research laboratory of the Voronezh State University. He is the author of about 200 papers, including the book "Infrared Absorption Spectra of Ionites" (Voronezh, 1972).
