He studied at the Tver Theological Seminary (1760-1768), graduated from the Trinity Lavra Theological Seminary (1774).
Teacher of the Tver Theological Seminary (1774-1778). In 1777 he became a monk. The Economy of the Tver Archbishop's House (1778-1783).
