Vasily Yanitsky graduated from the Tambov Civil Aviation Flying School (1939), higher flight training courses, Air Force Academy (1944).
Vasily Yanitsky was a participant in the Great Patriotic War. He was deputy squadron commander of the 52nd Near Bomber Aviation Regiment (8th Air Army, Southwestern Front). He participated in successful bombing of enemy forces, including in the Voronezh region. June 20, 1942 was seriously wounded, but managed to land the plane at his airfield.
Vasily Yanitsky worked as a teacher at the Borisoglebsk Military Aviation School. Since 1970, he became a retired colonel.
