Vasily Fedorovich Kolbnev worked as a master at a sugar factory in the village of Ertilskoye (now the city of Ertil). The platoon commander of the 18th Guards Separate Air Defense Division (61st Army, 1st Belorussian Front). Distinguished during the liberation of Poland. On February 17, 1945, Kolbnev's platoon participated in repelling a German counterattack on the outskirts of the village of Delitz (now Dolits). On the same night, the enemy launched a second counterattack. When the gunner of one of the guns went out of operation, Kolbnev replaced him with himself and continued firing. February 18, 1945 he died in battle.
