Vasily Winogradsky served in the Department of Mining and Salt Affairs from 1823 to 1828. He was an official for special missions at Luhansk Iron Foundry from 1828 to 1834, being a mountain schools’ supervisor at the same time from 1829 to 1834. He was an official of mining engineers' corps headquarters (Saint Petersburg, 1834-1835), a clerical worker at Kharkov University from 1835 to 1841. Vasily was a director of the people's schools of Voronezh Governorate and gymnasium (since 1841). A finishing school affiliated to gymnasium was opened on the initiative of Winogradsky in 1842. He was a counselor of State (1845).
