He served in the Red Army (1919-1921).
Vasily Ivanovich Zuev was a dancer of Voronezh Opera and Ballet Theater (1921). Performed acrobatic and characteristic dance numbers in the operettas and on the stage (1922-1928). Worked in Smolensk, Voronezh theaters of musical comedy (1931-1942, choreographer and teacher). Performing choreographing in plays: "A Servant" by Nikolai Strelnikov, "Rose-Marie" by Herbert Stotgart and Rudolf Friml, "A Merry Widow", "Blue Mazurka" by Franz Legar, "Autumn Maneuvers" by Imre Kalman, "On the Bank of Amur" by Matvey Blanter, "Wedding in Malinovka" Boris Alexandrov, "Kolumbina" Alexei Ryabov and others. Later he worked in Odessa.
