Vladimir studied photography for three years at Prague Graphic School in Prague, Czech Republic.
Lammer worked in a portrait photo studio before studies. In 1952 Vladimir worked as a chief of the photo department of the daily paper Obrana lidu. He held this position until 1958. From 1968 to 1970 Vladimir previously worked as its picture editor. Since 1971 Lammer worked as a photojournalist for Kvety weekly magazine.
Two short films have been made from Lammer's photographs, one for Prague television about Arab countries (1972), and one for Finland TV about Vietnam (1967).
