Graduated from Voronezh Musical College in 1968 (teacher Yu.N. Popov), and Gnessin State Musical and Pedagogical Institute in 1973 (professor A.I. Khachaturian).
Worked as director of the Children's Musical School from 1968 to 1970 in the village of Gremyachie, Khokholsky District, Voronezh Oblast. Throughout his career, he also was the chief editor of the Ros concert festivals (Moscow) and secretary of the Moscow division of the Union of Composers. Author of symphonies, vocal-choral, chamber vocal music and works for Russian folk instruments. Also acted in films on numerous occasions.
